early life
Stonebwoy are indigenous people of the Ashaiman region of Ghana. He was born on March 5, 1988 in the Satekla family. Although his nickname is spelled Stonebwoy, it is actually pronounced Stoneboy.
He started making music at a very early age, when he was still in elementary school. Another of his talents was storytelling, and he began delving into screenwriting in fourth grade. In addition, he wrote and starred in several theater productions before graduating from high school.
Stoneboy attended Methodist Day School for his high school education. He was classmates with Ghanaian musician Sarkodie. After receiving his high school diploma, he enrolled at the University of Professional Studies. He obtained his marketing degree from the institution in 2013.
Profession
2012 was a successful year for Stonebwoy as he had two hit singles: “Climax” and “Ghetto Love”. These songs helped him get nominated for the Ghana Music Awards. Afterwards, he released his debut album Grade 1, which contained seventeen songs. The project features some of Ghana’s best artists, helping to solidify Stonebwoy’s status as a creative musician.
After two years of intense work in the studio and playing shows across the country, Stonebwoy releases his second studio album, Necessary Evil. The project, which consisted of 29 tracks, was dropped on November 23, 2014.
Stonebwoy recorded and released his third album, Epistles Of Mama, in 2017 in memory of his late mother. The album features guest vocals from Burna Boy, Sean Paul and King Promise. According to Reggaeville, the album was voted the second best album of the year. The album also hit the milestone of 10 million views on YouTube.
Stonebwoy released his fourth studio album Anloga Junction in 2020 amid the pandemic. He collaborates with colleagues from different countries, including Diamond Platinumz, Zlatan, Alicai Harley, Jahmiel and Nasty C. The album’s official release date is April 24, 2020.

Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, 36, is a family man. He is married to Louisa Ansong Satekla and their marriage has two beautiful children namely Catherine Jidula Satekla and L Janam Joachim Satekla. Louisa Ansong works as a dentist in Ghana and owns her own clinic (dental clinic).
A philanthropist at heart, Stonebwoy is the visionary behind the Livingstone Foundation. The NGO established an annual scholarship fund for five students of his alma mater, Methodist Day Secondary School, Tema. Additionally, the foundation is involved in different philanthropic endeavors that impact the lives of Ghanaians.
Due to Stonebwoyi’s celebrity status, many brands often approach Stonebwoyi to host performances that influence the brand. For example, he is the brand ambassador for the energy drink Big Boss. Additionally, Tecno Mobile appointed him as its newest ambassador in September 2020.
