DUBAI: A car wash in Dubai offers more than just cleaning services. It is giving customers a scary experience.
Hidden in the alleys of Dubai, in a setting straight out of a horror movie, the car wash offers customers a unique experience.
As cars approach the store’s carefully lit shutters, employees dressed in horror movie costumes spring into action to scare customers and give them a suitably chilling experience while washing their cars.

Owner of Industry Car Wash, Omer Al Rafi’i, said: “My brother sent me a message and he said ‘we can have another idea to attract more people’ and I thought the idea was great so within a week we started working on the concept, the design, the costumes and everything, and then we made our first video. Then we got a lot of participation, a lot of people started coming, more than we expected.”
Designed to attract more customers to the business, the initiative has gained more momentum than expected, owner Omer al-Rafi’i told Reuters, finally gaining traction. The line ranges from families to couples and groups of curious friends.
“Ninety-nine percent, if not one hundred percent of our customers are happy, they’re happy because it’s something different,” Rafi’i said, adding, “ You can go get your car washed but after that it’s boring. People come with their families, friends, even children, but I mean over 15 years old because we are not allowed to let anyone under 15 years old. So we… we got some good response from our customers.”

One of the customers Khalid Abu Saeed said: “From the beginning, from the moment I walked in until now, everything has been perfect. The signs, the instructions written on the door about turning off the lights and honking the horn, it’s really as if you’re in a real house of horror, you know, a dangerous place. Honestly, it was a strange feeling, a perfect feeling.”
