Career
Sudha Murty’s career journey began in the field of computer science and engineering. She became the first female engineer hired at India’s largest automobile manufacturer, TATA Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO).
Her determination and perseverance helped her secure a position in the company despite widespread gender discrimination.
1996 Sudha Murty founded the Infosys Foundation, a public charity. Since then, she has been actively involved in various philanthropic initiatives, focusing on education, healthcare and rural development.
