SZA Reveals Why She Paused From Performing After Labeling Herself ‘Queen of Shame’

SZA fans won’t be able to see her perform live for a while as she has announced she will be taking an indefinite break from performing.

The “Kill Bill” hitmaker announced via social media that she would be taking a “short break” from performing on Monday — a day after her headline performance at Montreal’s Osheaga Festival.

According to Rolling Stone, SZA has been busy performing at major concerts at Lollapalooza, Osheaga, and Glastonbury this summer after completing her “SOS” tour from February 2023 to May of this year.

“Yesterday was my last show in a while,” the R&B queen wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Finally getting my life back together, thank God.”

SZA’s post came after she retweeted a fan comment describing her outfit as “so amazing”.

“This makes me so happy because that’s all I [trying to] do!! i just want to capture your energy mix it up [with] “My, add some love and throw it back,” SZA replied. “All in 90 minutes, I love you.”

But while the singer won’t be performing live in the coming weeks, fans still have plenty to look forward to as she has hinted at an album called “Lana” and a collaboration with Paramore.

In March, she posted“Will be releasing leaks and cuts from ‘SOS’ soon as promised in the deluxe. ‘Lana’ deserves more time and music no one has heard before.”

Last week, the “Snooze” singer called herself “creepy” after sharing too much about her thoughts on love on social media.

“I want to be so madly in love that I can’t think, I can’t breathe, I can’t BE LOVED. I WANT TO BE TRAPPED IN THE EXTREME SPIRAL OF LOVE. I WANT TO DROW AND STROKE IN IT,” she passionately wrote on X. “AAAAHHHHHHHHH PLEASE DIE IN LOVE!!!”

The next day, SZA seemed to regret her openness when she posted, “I LOVE embarrassing myself to the point of ignoring someone BECAUSE WHY DO I SAY AND DO THAT.”

Fans immediately expressed support for SZA, with one user commenting, “I think it’s okay to be shy huh? Let’s all be shy.”

SZA responded, calling herself the “queen of shame.”
