Tara Elizabeth Conner (born December 18, 1985), known professionally as Tara Conner, is an American model, television personality, and beauty pageant titleholder. She is the titleholder who was crowned Miss USA 2006. She is also the first Miss USA to be stripped of her title in over twenty years.

Tara Conner was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in rural Kentucky. She began her modeling career at the age of thirteen and won several modeling competitions. After graduating from high school, she moved to New York City to pursue a modeling and acting career.

Tara Conner was born on December 18, 1985, in Dallas, Texas, United States. She is the daughter of Brenda Conner, a Fruit of the Loom employee, and John Conner. Josh Conner, her only sibling, was born in 1984. When she was six weeks old, her family moved to Russell Springs, Kentucky.

Tara Conner revealed that she started using drugs at age 14 after her parents divorced and her grandfather died. She graduated from Russell County High School in 2004 and was studying business administration at Somerset Community College at the time she won the Miss USA pageant.

Tara Conner was crowned Miss Kentucky Teen USA in 2001. She competed in the Miss Teen USA pageant in South Padre Island, Texas, in August 2002. She received the highest score in swimsuit (9.18) among the 10 semifinalists and the fifth highest score in evening gown after qualifying first (8.79).

After these two rounds, her average score placed her in second place overall. Tara Conner ultimately finished second behind Wisconsin’s Vanessa Semrow. Her ranking was tied with Kristen Johnson, who placed second among Kentucky delegates at the pageant.

Tara Conner returned to pageantry in November 2005, when she was crowned Miss Kentucky USA by Kristen Johnson, former Miss Kentucky Teen USA 2000 and Miss Kentucky USA 2005.

She is the third teenage beauty to win the Miss Kentucky USA title, including Kristen Johnson and Elizabeth Arnold, who held the teen title in 1998, and is the older sister of Tara Conner, who won the Miss Kentucky USA title in 2002.

In March 2006, while still Miss Kentucky USA, Tara Conner traveled to Los Angeles to film a special episode of Deal or No Deal featuring twenty-five Miss USA 2006 delegates and reigning Miss USA Chelsea Cooley. The special aired in April 2006.

On April 21, 2006, Tara Conner represented Kentucky in the nationally televised Miss USA 2006 pageant in Baltimore, Maryland. She became the 18th woman to place in both the Miss Teen USA and Miss USA pageants after reaching the semi-finals.
