Tatahda Ferguson married Darnell Ferguson, a contestant turned culinary judge on several Food Network and Discovery Plus shows, on May 22, 2016.

And despite telling the world the stories of how they met and how long they were together before getting married, the couple continued to expand their number of children.

Living in Alabama, Tatahda and Darnell welcomed their eighth child in September 2020, according to reports. DistractHowever, their family photo taken on December 17, 2021 only shows them having six children.

One of the children who shares the same birthday as the “Greatest of All Time” Mohammad Ali and is also named after him is Ali Ferguson. So, young Ali was born on January 17, 2017.

Darnell, who rarely posts about Tatahda and the kids on Instagram @superchef_23, wrote “The world needs more moms like you T❤️” on Mother’s Day in April 2021.

Certainly, Darnell “SuperChef” Ferguson’s journey hasn’t always been easy, as he also had to live out of his car at times after a series of arrests for drug dealing.

Darnell started cooking as a junior in high school, taking a culinary arts class at the former Northeast Career Center. He then enrolled in the culinary arts program at Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky, and (of course) excelled there, too. And soon after, he was one of about 30 students nationwide selected to help prepare food for the 2008 U.S. Summer Olympic team in Beijing. That’s where he earned the nickname “Master Chef,” which he’s now legally adopted as his middle name.

But Darnell still wasn’t done selling marijuana and ecstasy to make a living. That certainly didn’t go well for him, as after graduating he was in and out of prison for about a year.

After his last detention for human trafficking in 2009, he was left completely bankrupt; he even lost his apartment.

Luckily, from then on, Darnell was determined to succeed in a positive way and he never looked back.

By 2012, he and a partner opened a pop-up restaurant in Louisville. The following year, he teamed up with more partners to open SuperChefs in Downtown Columbus and then SuperChefs in Gahanna.

Darnell opened his facility in Louisville in 2015. Since then, he has expanded to Atlanta and Tuscumbia, Alabama.

During this time, many cooking TV shows also looked forward to his regular appearances.

Additionally, Darnell, who also works to give back, has released a comic book, Become a superhero with the aim of helping children because I always wanted to be a role model for other children, to be the “chef that other children want to be.
