Taylor Swift’s “biggest fear” of an attack at one of her shows has resurfaced after her “Eras Tour” shows in Vienna, Austria were canceled due to a “planned terrorist attack” at the stadium.
Swift has publicly expressed her serious concerns about the safety of fans at her concerts, especially after tragic incidents such as the “Manchester Arena bombing and Vegas concert shooting”.
“I was really scared about going on tour this time because I didn’t know how I was going to keep 3 million fans safe for seven months,” she shared in a 2019 column for Elle magazine.
“It took a lot of planning, expense, and effort to keep our fans safe,” Swift added.
A tragedy occurred in May 2017 at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, when a suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured many more. Five months later, another act of violence shook the world when a gunman opened fire at an outdoor country music festival in Las Vegas, killing 58 people.
Following these traumatic events, the now 34-year-old singer-songwriter revealed in her column how her “fear of violence” spilled over into her personal life, sharing that she began carrying “military-grade bandages” in case of stab or gunshot wounds.
Swift — who has faced numerous stalkers throughout her career — admitted that “websites and tabloids” making her personal information easily accessible online have increased her anxiety levels.
“You get a lot of stalkers trying to break into your house and you start preparing for the worst,” she said.

After arresting two suspected extremists in Austria, authorities revealed that they had uncovered a terrorist plot targeting a major event in the Vienna area, possibly a Swift concert.
Austrian officials confirmed that the two individuals were linked to the ISIS terrorist group.
CBS News reported, citing unnamed sources, that US intelligence had provided details about the suspects to Austrian authorities.
In Ternitz, south of Vienna, authorities arrested the main suspect, a 19-year-old man, while a second suspect was detained in the Austrian capital.
Swift’s performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are part of her “Eras Tour” and are scheduled to take place at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.
Barracuda Music guarantees that ticket refunds will be processed within 10 business days.
