Taylor Swift Reflects on Making ‘The Tortured Poets Division’ Set Amid the ‘Epoch Tour’: ‘Ambitious as Hell’

Taylor Swift shared insights into how she seamlessly incorporated “The Tortured Poets Department” into her “Eras Tour” set.

Featured in her latest “Eras Tour Book,” the 34-year-old pop star opened up about the challenges and excitement of introducing a new era midway through her tour, complete with new outfits and dynamic dances in over 70 upcoming performances.

On page 256, Swift reveals: “We came up with the idea and rehearsed it in secret, and surprised the Paris crowd with it as we kicked off the European leg of our tour.”

Making its grand debut on May 9, 2024 in Paris, “TayRoomba” took center stage as Swift breathed new life into the “Eras Tour” lineup. On page 159, Swift reveals that someone is controlling it from the inside.

“The ‘rover’ platform I travel on is actually operated by a crew member who sits inside the platform and controls it from the inside,” she said.

The “Fortnight” singer expressed his vision for the “TTPD” set as one of “minimalism, whiteness, clarity and boldness,” adding: “There’s nothing else on the show like it and It’s a fun challenge to try to improve a show that I already love.”

The Target exclusive “Eras Tour Book” will hit stores Friday and online Saturday, priced at $39.99.

Swift also detailed her vision for the set’s aesthetics and props, intended to take viewers through “the alien abduction, the fight scene, the religious institute, the mental asylum, the house Hauntings and the Dressing Room Habits of a Showgirl.”

The “Lovers” singer celebrated the achievement of the “TTPD” film, describing the new addition, “It was ambitious but we succeeded, creating what I think is a dramatic, emotional, Women’s fury of the night.”

Swift promised fans that the upcoming book will feature never-before-seen photos taken during more than 100 performances.

Additionally, Swifties will also have the opportunity to purchase “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” in both vinyl and CD formats.

The 14-time Grammy winner hailed her latest project as “the definitive retrospective of the greatest tour of her life.”

But speculation about a potential 12th album and upcoming tour was sparked by her closing message in “Eras Tour Book” which read: “See you in the next era.”
