Taylor Swift’s longtime rival has surprising reaction to Trump’s ‘hateful’ remarks, but fans aren’t happy

Taylor Swift’s former business rival appears to be supporting her political stance in the upcoming presidential election through social media interactions involving Donald Trump.

Music executive Scooter Braun took to his Instagram Stories to respond to the Republican candidate’s criticism of Swift.

Trump expressed his intense dislike for the 14-time Grammy Award-winning artist on Sunday, saying, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” after she publicly endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, shortly after his widely criticized debate performance.

Amid a disagreement between Swift and Braun over his purchase of her previous master recordings, the music manager suddenly appeared to defend her against Trump’s comments.

Braun posted a screenshot of Trump’s statement with the caption: “Drop it Donald,” seemingly referencing Swift’s hit song.

Braun included a screenshot of Trump’s first post in his social media update.

Some Swift fans expressed skepticism about Braun’s motives on social media.

X user @SGxTS_abhay commented, “Please let Taylor Swift breathe… stay away from her.”

@MastermindWine believes, “He’s desperate for attention.”

“He’s so desperate for attention…,” @KarmaIsAFad tweeted, while @ipraytojesustoo declared, “the way all these men feel entitled to mention Taylor’s name is tiring and frustrating.”

@OnikaPwesh added, “Scooter is still dealing with the hate he has for Taylor.”

Braun’s hatred came after he got his hands on Swift’s original recording.

Swift revealed that she attempted to buy back her master recordings but was opposed by Big Machine Records.

Their proposal required her to produce a new album with the label whenever she wanted to secure her master recordings, starting with her debut album “Taylor Swift”, released in 2006.

The “Fortnight” singer initiated the process of re-recording Braun’s previous albums, releasing them as deluxe editions titled “Taylor’s Version”.

The decision encouraged her fans to buy back the album and exclusively stream the re-recorded versions, preventing the success Braun expected from her originals.

The “Taylor’s Version” project has proven to be a success for Swift. The reissues have been a significant success, rivaling the sales of her latest studio releases and setting numerous sales records.
