Tatenda Mandaza (born 10 September 1992), known professionally as Tendaness, is a record producer, DJ and musician from Swaziland. He began to make a name for himself as one of the most promising new producers in the area.

He has also remixed for several international stars such as Drake and Ed Sheeran.

In 2016, Tendaness released their debut album “Grande”, which featured collaborations with Africa’s biggest stars. The album was well received by fans and critics alike, with MTV Base calling it “One of a Kind”.

Early Life & Education

Tendaness was born in Mbabane, the capital of Eswatini. He is 31 years old, born September 10, 1992.

His mother is Swati, and his father is Zimbabwean. In 2007–2008, he began his bedroom music career after being pressured by a high school classmate.

A friend taught him how to use a turntable in 2008 and he got the stage name ‘Tendaness’. After mastering the skill of creating music, he founded the record label Tendamix Records in 2011.

Education

Tendaness moved to the United States in August 2012 to study at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma.

He spent four years studying advertising with a major in film and media studies while continuing to make music.

In 2013, he released the hit single “Overload”. Former Cashtime member Smashis (now Zingah) and rapper Kid Nice are featured on the single.

When he was Coca-Cola’s Swaziland Ambassador, the song was released as part of the Crazy For Good Campaign. The song received heavy airplay in Swaziland and South Africa, and the music video was first broadcast on major music networks, including MTV Base and Channel O.

Tendaness’ debut album, “Grande,” was released on March 3, 2016 and features promising performers from Swaziland and other parts of Africa.
