Early life
Thandi Modise was born on 25 December 1959 in Vryburg, North West Province of South Africa. TheCityCeleb does not have any valid information about her parents and siblings.
When she was about 17 years old, she joined the ANC (African National Congress) political party in Angola.
She had to travel from South Africa to Angola to register with a political party. She also underwent two years of intensive training in Angola.

Thandi Modise was Chair of the Defence Portfolio Committee from 1998 to 2004.
In 1994, following an election, she was appointed as a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of South Africa before resigning in 2004.
Thandi Modise was also appointed as Vice President of the ANCWL from 1994 to 2004. In 2004, she served as Chief of Staff to the President of the African National Congress (ANC) Women’s League.
That same year, she became the speaker of the Northwestern provincial legislature; she resigned in 2009 after serving for five years.
Additionally, in 2007, she was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC). She also served for 5 years before resigning in 2012.
