Early life

Thato Moeng was born in Pretoria North, South Africa on 25 April 1986.

Since her childhood days, she has always been passionate about sports, mainly due to inspiration from her father.

However, despite that love, she never really had any desire to participate in sports.

Thato Moeng attended primary and post-primary school in Pretoria before being admitted to the University of Tshwane in 2005 to study film and television technology.

However, a year later, she changed her course at the Tshwane University of Technology and began studying journalism.

Career

Popular TV presenter Thato Moeng started her career as an intern at YFM, then a few years later she moved to 5FM where she became the station’s first black and female sports presenter.

From 2011 to 2014, she worked at 5FM. However, she signed up for a new sports show at SuperSport in 2010 and that’s how she started hosting Thursday Night Live with Robert Marawa until 2019. Cynthia Chaka is also the which she admires.
