Prince’s only biological sister, Tyka Nelson, a singer and artist, passed away at the age of 64 this month, and now her cause of death has been revealed, according to the latest estate report. Prince’s successor.
Nelson is said to have been facing a number of health problems in the months before her death – she suffered from heart abnormalities for at least four months before her death. Earlier this month, it was also reported that multiple emergency calls were made to her in the weeks before her death.
According to Tyka Nelson’s official death certificate, as TMZ reported on Monday (November 18), the singer died of cardiac arrest – at least the first listed cause of her death. Congestive heart failure was recorded as a secondary cause of her death on the death certificate issued by the Minnesota Department of Health.
Furthermore, authorities said her heart was also weakened by substance abuse, according to TMZ.
Last month, like Minnesota Star Court reported, Nelson’s son, President Nelson, confirmed the singer’s death in a November 4 statement, although he did not provide details on the cause of death.
Emergency logs previously obtained by TMZ show paramedics were called to Nelson’s home at least six times. The first call took place in September; the most recent call was on November 1, three days before her death. Her name was not listed on each call list obtained, but it was confirmed that calls made were made by or on her behalf.
Some of the issues discussed in the diary include bleeding in the digestive tract, heart health problems, and pain from infection. In September, the singer was rushed from her home in Minneapolis to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
As an artist, Nelson last performed in the Twin Cities area around 2008; ten years later, she performed for the last time in Australia. Prince himself died in 2016 and a subsequent autopsy revealed the cause was an accidental fentanyl overdose.
