The cause of death of Quincy Jones was revealed to be pancreatic cancer

The cause of death of Quincy Jones has been revealed nearly two weeks after the legendary producer passed away.

A new report reveals that Jones died of cancer.

TMZ obtained the death certificate from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The certificate listed pancreatic cancer as his cause of death. Furthermore, it did not list any other factors that contributed to his death.

After his death, a spokesperson for the late producer shared that he “passed away peacefully” at his Bel Air mansion on November 3.

“It is with full but broken hearts that we announce the passing of our father and brother, Quincy Jones. Although this is a tremendous loss for us, we choose to celebrate the remarkable life he lived, knowing there will never be another like him,” the statement read.

During his seven-decade career, Jones won 28 Grammy Awards and was considered “the most influential” in jazz by Time magazine.

His most notable work was when he collaborated with Michael Jackson for Jackson’s iconic album, Bad And Sensational. The latter became the best-selling album of all time and has since sold over 70 million copies worldwide since it was released.

Bad was also a success, although not as great SensationalHowever, it still became the first album to have five number one singles on the chart. Billboard Hot 100 chart, a record he solely held until Katy Perry matched her singles Teenage dream album. Bad has sold more than 35 million copies since its release.

After Jones passed away, his daughter, Rashida Jones, broke her silence. In a social media post, she shared that her father is the embodiment of “love.”

“My dad was a nocturnal person his entire adult life. He kept ‘jazz hour’ starting in high school and never looked back. When I was a kid, I used to wake up at midnight to look for him. Surely, he will be a nocturnal person somewhere in the house, composing (old-fashioned, with a pen and music),” she wrote.

“He would never make me go back to bed. He would smile and hold me in his arms while continuing to work…there is no safer place in the world for me. He is a giant. An icon. A culture changer. All accurate descriptions of my father but his music (and ALL of his work) were his means of expression. His love. He IS love Everyone he met felt loved and seen.

Jones was 91 years old when he died. He left behind a fortune worth 500 million USD. news week report.
