Content and bug fixes

  • game show events

    • Disable the “Dead Go Boom” game show event

      • Developer Note: We believe this event currently punishes melee users too much, so we are temporarily disabling it.We hope to return it to the game at some point in the future after the redesign

  • online telephone

    • Set VoIP to be enabled by default on PC and Push To Talk as default input (existing player)

    • Set VoIP to be enabled by default on the console and voice activation as the default input (existing players)

      • Development notes: We want to encourage more teamwork within the game, and providing VoIP for all players is part of that effort. Players can disable VoIP through settings. We previously made this change for new players in the version 1.5 update and saw positive results!

Finals gameplay

The game has different modes in which 3 or 4 teams compete in a “free-for-all” format. Players select characters based on a “light”, “medium” or “heavy” rating, each with different speeds and sizes. Each class has unique weapons, moves, and abilities. Light builds are fast but have low health, medium builds are balanced, and heavy builds are durable but less mobile.

The game encourages creative play that takes advantage of the changing terrain, weather conditions and time of day. Players can pick up and throw items such as barrels, some of which explode on impact. Buildings can be destroyed, and players can use the “Goo Gun” and “Goo Grenade” to create temporary structures. When players are defeated, they turn into statues that teammates can carry and resurrect. In Quick Play, players can respawn as often as they want, but in Tournament Mode, their respawn coins are limited.
