Actress Hannah Simone revealed that the “Purple Rain” singer’s appearance on the 2014 show was due to his crush on her.
New girl Costume designer Debra McGuire and Simone host the show Mess around podcast and McGuire shared that Prince wanted to be on the show “because he has a crush on our little Hannah.”
That’s when Simone confirmed the news about her lover.
“Yeah. He tried for so long to find a way to be in the same room together,” she said.
Simone, who plays Cece Parekh on the show, shared that she doesn’t see Prince romantically.
She shared: “I really like a Prince song. It was a pleasure to record a Prince record. I don’t care about anything else.”
Simone added: “So I’ve never been in the same room as Prince. And yeah, he’s like a teenager showing up at my work, which is really funny.”
Simone went on to reveal that one of the scenes was Prince’s idea and that it was the scene shown during the episode’s credits where the two of them played ping pong.
“Apparently with the people he really likes to have that good time, he likes to play table tennis. It’s like five o’clock in the morning, they have to write on the cards – ’cause how can they combine Can play table tennis together.” Join the program? The ping pong scene was the last scene filmed in the episode to feature the singer because of concerns that Prince would leave after he had a “good” time with Simone.

“Which I would never [forget] is – I don’t play table tennis, I’m not a good table tennis player. I was very tired. It was a day of about 20 hours and I took the shot. I was so tired, my body was like, ‘We’re doing it.’ And then he was like – he actually left, which was really funny,” Simone continued.
Prince passed away in 2016, two years after appearing on the show, leaving behind a legacy of one of music’s greatest artists who also sold more than 100 million albums worldwide during his career. yours.
