The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, shared that he may be giving up his character as The Weeknd after the release of his upcoming album. Hurry tomorrow.
In an interview with DiversityTesfaye talks about completing his ongoing album trilogy with Rush Up Tomorrow, which will mark his final posthumous release. After work in 2020 and Dawn FM in 2022.
Tesfaye was asked what aspect of his career Hurry tomorrow coming to an end, he simply replied that “his existence as the Weeknd” would now end. The “Blinding Lights” singer added that this persona is now nothing more than a “void” that he no longer wants.
“You have a personality, but then you have the competition of it all,” Tesfaye commented.
The singer then addressed the “rat race” that has occurred during his musical journey, which includes continuously receiving more awards, producing more releases, and achieving many achievements.
Tesfaye added: “It’s never over until you end it.”
However, he left a note of reassurance by assuring that he will continue to make music and that he is not giving up anytime soon.
“I don’t think I can stop doing it,” he said.
