The Witcher Season 3 Episode 5 Review and Ending Explained
In this episode, the consequences unfold through repeated sequences, each time revealing new information. However, the final revelation is disappointingly predictable, making this ending the most boring part of the first volume.
The party setting adds a strange, slightly pernicious cat vibe, with hidden agendas, fancy costumes, grand dances and even fist fights between jealous rivals, temporarily turning The Witcher into The Real World. ‘s Housewives ,” introducing a level of roughness not often seen in the show.
Surprisingly, there’s very little to review for much of this episode. Geralt, Yennefer, Istredd, and Triss all suspected that Stregober was working with Riens to kidnap the young half-elf novice from Arethusa. They have extensive conversations with different characters to gather evidence and prove their suspicions. For example, Geralt and Istredd fought over Yennefer, which was later revealed to be a diversion so that Yennefer could search Stregobor’s private quarters for a book about the Monolith. Book.
However, the transfer was so obvious the first time it happened that the additional reveals felt pointless and reminiscent of an unnecessary Ocean’s Eleven -style twist. When Yennefer investigates Stregobor’s room, she discovers the book and ample evidence supporting his theory of involvement in the girl’s abduction. When Stregobor’s absence was noticed, everyone gathered to formally accuse him, and Tisaya took over the book for safekeeping.
Later, the real twist came. Geralt and Yennefer piece together the clues and gain insights. Yennefer recalled mentioning Lydia in her conversation with Philippa, and when she described Lydia’s injuries, Geralt recalled Trin’s mention of “the woman with the funny voice.” They also deduced that Wilgefortz was the real villain.
However, these clues have already been shown to the audience, so the characters are just catching up on information that is already obvious to us. Even after this revelation, the confrontation with Wilgefortz was denied. When Geralt tries to confront him, Dijkstra stops him and Dijkstra holds a knife to his throat, ending the episode and the first volume.
