Thembi Mthembu, the beloved wife of the late politician Jackson Mthembu, sadly lost her husband in the early months of 2021 to Covid-19. Jackson Mthembu was buried in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, where he was mourned by many who respected him and admired his tireless dedication to public service.
Although Jackson Mthembu was previously married to Pinkie Selolo, the couple separated in the early 1990s. During his lifetime, Jackson Mthembu fathered six children with his two wives, leaving behind a legacy of love and family that will never be forgotten.
Sadly, the Mthembu family suffered another tragic loss when Thembi Mthembu’s 25-year-old stepdaughter, Nokhwezi Mthembu, died by suicide in March 2019 at the Pelican Park parliamentary residence in Cape Town.
