She was a member of a band until the band broke up and she was forced to start a solo career. As many people liked to listen to her singing, her music career flourished.
After gaining experience in music, she decided to pursue another career. She tried her hand at being an actress before becoming a radio host. Her versatility helped her build a media presence and develop her brand. Her first acting opportunity was a small role in the film series “The Hijacking Story”.
Her short-lived role made movie directors take notice of her talent and she also landed another role in the popular Mzansi drama series Yizo Yizo which aired on SABC1. After landing the role in the series, she got the opportunity to sing Sure Ntombazana in the Yizo Yizo 2 soundtrack.
More acting opportunities came up and Thembi became a well-known figure. For the next four years, she starred in Gaz’lam (2000-2004). She played Lerato in the first and second seasons of the TV series, which aired on SABC1.
She went on to play the role of Lily in the third episode of the SABC1 drama Mtunzini.com before appearing as a guest star in Ghosts of the Pasts at the start of its second season.
