Thomas Ong Thian Chai (born 1 February 1969), known professionally as Thomas Ong, is a Singaporean actor, television presenter and businessman who is best known for his roles in The Dragon Five as Zhao Tianbao and Waves of Courage as Zhao Wei.
He started his career in the entertainment industry in 1994 in a movie titled Dr. Justice and Love At Last. He was nominated for several awards and emerged as the winner in most of the nominations.
Besides acting, Thomas Ong is also a presenter for many local television shows in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Early life and education
Thomas Ong Thian Chai was born on January 31, 1963 in Singapore. His father, Robert Ong, worked for the United States Department of State in Washington, DC. His mother, Trinh Huat, is a famous actress in Singapore. He studied at St. Joseph’s Institution and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
Thomas Ong was born into a family of six children. He has four brothers and one sister, whom they call the princess of the family. With such a large family, he was always close to his siblings and valued the importance of family.

In 1994, he joined the newly formed Singapore Broadcasting Corporation and began his acting career in Dr. Justice. He was named one of the Top 5 and Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes three times in the 1990s.
