He was a three-sport high school star in California and became one of the best athletes in the world at both indoor and beach volleyball.
While at USC, Tim was selected to the first-team All-America Volleyball Team six times from 1979 to 1984. He helped the United States win the Canada Cup by defeating Cuba in 1981 and was named MVP. He led Team USA to a silver medal at the 1981 NORCECA Championships.
Tim also spent 8 years playing in the Italian professional Serie A1 league. When not competing in Italy during the winter months, he returned to his homeland to play beach volleyball. He has won 46 titles on the AVP Tour and more than $1 million. All of this and more led to his induction into the California Beach Volleyball Association Hall of Fame in 2000. That same year, he was also selected to the Magazine’s All-Century first team Volleyball.
