While at USC, Tim was selected to the USA Volleyball All-America team six times from 1979 to 1984. He helped the United States win the Canada Cup by defeating Cuba in 1981 and was named MVP. He led the United States to a silver medal at the 1981 NORCECA Championship.
Tim also spent eight years playing in Italy’s Serie A1 professional league. While he wasn’t playing in Italy during the winter months, he returned to his roots and played beach volleyball. He won 46 AVP Tour titles and over $1 million in earnings. All of this and more led to his induction into the California Beach Volleyball Association Hall of Fame in 2000. That same year, he was also selected to Volleyball Magazine’s All-Century Team.
