Tom Cruise was born on July 3, 1962, to Thomas Cruise Mapother III and Mary Lee Mapother in Syracuse, New York.
His father is an electrical engineer and his mother is a special education teacher. He has three sisters, Lee Ann Mapother, Marian Mapother, and Cass Mapother. Although Tom Cruise’s parents are from Kentucky, he spent his early childhood in New York.
When his father got a job as a defence advisor in the Canadian Armed Forces, the family moved to Ottawa, Canada.
