Tom Morello on getting Iron Maiden inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Twitter: @MaidenWorldTR
Tom Morello expressed his determination to get the rock band Iron Maiden into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
On an episode of The Eddie Trunk Podcast, Morello was interviewed about his music career, Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
During the episode, Morello shared that if he couldn’t get Iron Maiden into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, he would “chew his legs like a coyote caught in a trap.”
Although Morello made it clear that many artists in the rock genre deserved the honor, he described Iron Maiden as “the most egregious oversight” on the prestigious list.
Morello later described Iron Maiden as “the gold standard of metal bands” and despite their prominence, the band was not inducted. He also revealed that Iron Maiden being there was important to him as a fan, although current Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson doesn’t mind the achievement.
“I’m very interested in it,” Morello shared. “So I’m going to do everything I can to get (with) whatever limited influence I have, to get Iron Maiden into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”
Since 2005, Iron Maiden has been eligible and the band has been nominated in 2021 and 2023.
Previously on October 21, Iron Maiden’s lead vocalist Paul Di’Anno passed away at the age of 66. Later, his family revealed that Di’Anno’s cause of death was “a tear in the sac around heart” and blood. filled his main aorta, causing his heart to stop.
