Overview of Eastern Gaffes
Touhou LostWord is a mobile game based on the popular Touhou series. The game was developed by NextNinja in 2020 and published by Good Smile Company. It is an official Touhou fan game approved by the official Touhou game publisher Shanghai Alice Team.
In Touhou LostWord, players participate in a role-playing game. They create a party of six characters who will join them on their journey. The goal is to defeat waves of enemies in different stages of turn-based combat. By overcoming these challenges, players can unlock new stages and progress further in the game.
Each character in the game has six attributes that greatly affect their combat effectiveness. These attributes include HP (health points), agility, yin attack, yin defense, yang attack, and yang defense. Characters also have multiple spell cards that can be reused in levels. In addition to regular spell cards, each character also has a powerful Last Word ability. However, once the last word is used, regular spell cards become unavailable for the remainder of the phase.
To enhance a character’s abilities, players can equip story cards, which provide additional power to spell cards and improve the character’s attributes. Characters can also level up by participating in various services, such as attending school or training at a dojo. Completing these services rewards players with gold coins, which can be used to upgrade characters or acquire new ones.
Mental power is an important resource in the game, similar to gashapon physical strength. Players need spiritual power to perform any action in the game, and spiritual power can mainly be obtained through services. As part of the game’s gacha system, players also have the option to purchase gold coins and psychic powers through in-app purchases, providing additional opportunities to enhance the gaming experience. Touhou LostWord combines the beloved characters and world of Touhou with role-playing and strategy gameplay, giving fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Touhou universe on their mobile devices.
Lost Words of the East Characters and Reroll Level Lists
Reroll tier list
Level 1: A strong start
Yumu Genbai – Yumu Genbai, the ghost girl gardener from the underworld, stood out in the tutorial volume and became the overwhelmingly dominant unit. Her attack power is significantly stronger than the others, and she has an extremely powerful Area of Effect (AoE) Last Word ability, making her extremely valuable for both farming and challenging content. As such, she comes highly recommended and plays an important role in every phase of the game.
Tier 2: Lackluster, but usable
Reisen Udongein Inaba – While Reisen Udongein Inaba is primarily good at farming alone during initial boss encounters, other characters, such as Youmu, can also achieve this feat with enough strength. Beyond that, Rayson’s damage output is relatively low and he lacks significant ability in group attacks. Still, she does provide valuable accuracy utility and the advantage of access to the lunar element.
Sakuya Izayoi – Sakuya Izayoi doesn’t perform well as a unit due to several shortcomings. Her damage output is sub-par, her elemental abilities are limited, and she doesn’t provide any beneficial utility to the team, serving only as a self-centered damage dealer. While she possesses impressive speed, this particular trait is of little use in the LastWord environment.
Cirno – Cirno’s main highlight is her ability to create two freeze barriers on all opponents and then shatter them with her last words. However, there is a bit of an element of unpredictability, as only occasionally a barrier will spawn, making her unreliable for constant boss spawning. As such, she’s better suited to challenging content designed for single encounters rather than repetitive farming scenarios.
Level 3: Got it for free
Sanae Kochiya, Marisa Kirisame, Reimu Hakurei – All these units, namely Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, and Sanae Kochiya, have been provided as free rewards. Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame are obtained by logging in beforehand, while Sanae Chiya is obtained after 7 days. While getting extra copies early can break the max limit faster, this advantage has little long-term use. Therefore, even if you prefer these three characters, it is recommended to re-select one of the other options.
