Early life

Toyin Lawani (Tiannah) was born in 1982 into an illustrious Ekiti family.

Her father, Olanrewaju Lawani was a politician and he worked with General Yakubu Gowon. While her mother is a successful businesswoman, running a textile business in the US.

Her grandfather was the Commissioner of Police while her grandmother was the Regent of Ikole Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Education

While her father wanted her to become a lawyer, her mother groomed her to become a businessman.

She studied English at the prestigious University of Lagos.

She studied at the Oprah Benson Training Institute. She also trained at the Los Angeles School of Fashion and earned a diploma in fashion.

Career

While in college, she opened a mini supermarket, boutique store and spa. She achieved this achievement when she was just 16 years old.

Over the years, she has become one of the top stylists in the country. She has designed outfits for many celebrities around the world such as Banky W, Funke Akindele, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince, Keri Hilson, Ciara, Natalie Nunn, Emma Nyra, among others.

She is the founder and creative director of Tiannah’s Place Empire. She also runs a fashion academy – Tiannah Styling Fashion Academy.

She also owns a beauty product line called Tiannah’s Glow.

Toyin is the brain behind Agbada Denim collections and designs– Dream Collection, Transformer Collection, Face Collection, Asiko Collection, Ready to Wear Collection and many more .

She has also won several awards such as the City People’s Entertainment Special Recognition Award and Stylist of the Year Award (2015).

She was a guest judge of the Next Top Designer program held in Lagos.

She is the creative director of Exquisite Magazine and her designs have been featured in various leading magazines.
