Trans-Siberian Orchestra
The Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) was formed in 1996 by producer, composer and lyricist Paul O’Neill. The core creative team includes Jon Oliva, Al Petrilli ( Al Pitrelli (both of Savatage) and co-producer Robert Kinkel. The band rose to fame when they toured in 1999 after completing their second album, “The Christmas Attic.”
Often described as “arena rock titans,” their music incorporates elements from the likes of Pink Floyd, Yes, and The Who to create a unique experience akin to the spectacle at Radio City Music Hall. The TSO has sold more than 10 million albums and concert tickets. Their repertoire includes rock operas such as “Silent Night and Other Stories,” “Beethoven’s Last Night” and “Night Castle.”
Known for its philanthropy and spectacular performances, the TSO presents elaborate concerts that include strings, light shows, lasers, video screens and synchronized effects. Billboard and Pollstar recognized them as one of the best-selling bands of the new millennium. The TSO’s unique journey includes bypassing clubs, focusing on theaters and arenas, and maintaining a tradition of not opening acts.
