Sheldon Jerome Young was born on May 26, 1991, between Compton and Lynwood in south Los Angeles. His great-grandparents raised him. He spent most of his time at church, playing drums for the choir.
Channel left home to study at Oral Roberts University, a private Christian university in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He began playing drums at age 10 and went on to study music technology, composition and theory at Oklahoma’s Oral Roberts University. Tres returned to Los Angeles after graduating from college and began focusing on his music career.
In 2019, he released his debut EP, “Black Moses” and has since received recognition for his blend of house music, hip hop and R&B.
