Sting is sharing his candid thoughts on plastic surgery and the role vanity plays in his performance.
The music legend made it clear that he is not interested in plastic surgery and that he is fine.
Talking to Los Angeles Times In a candid interview, Sting reacted to the thought of plastic surgery.
“Look at me – I’m perfect. What’s wrong with you?” he replied when asked if he felt any pressure to get the job done.
He went on to share that to be an entertainer, one needs a certain level of vanity to do what one does.
“I don’t look at my photos. But in the first place, you need enough professional makeup to go on stage. I wouldn’t want to continue if I was overweight or wearing tight clothes. If that happened to me, I don’t go on stage,” Sting said.
He added: “So makeup is somewhat necessary and it’s not particularly harmful. I don’t spend hours a day looking in the mirror or applying makeup or going to the hairdresser or wearing wigs or corsets.” breasts every day”.
Instead of focusing on surgeries, Sting says he focuses on staying physically fit and that also helps him maintain mental clarity.
“I swim every morning when I can. I’ve been doing yoga for 35 years so everything has to do with that. I stretch, I exercise, I walk. I’m physically very healthy and that helps me stay mentally healthy,” he shared.
He goes on to once again talk about the role of vanity in his work.
“50% vanity – maybe 55 – and 45% discipline. I’m doing the job of a 25-year-old,” he continued.
Sting began his career in the late ’70s as a member of the band The Police and achieved almost immediate success with hits like “Every Breath You Take” and “Message in a Bottle “. Clearly, his healthy habits have served him well throughout his long career. He controls his drinking and does not smoke.
“I like a glass of wine or two at the end of a show or a glass of mezcal,” he shares. I would never say I would quit drinking.” “I’ve never smoked anything legal in my life, which I’m happy to say. I’ve never smoked cigarettes. I smoked marijuana, but it’s not fun for me anymore.”
“When I was younger, I was an athlete and smoking wasn’t something you did,” he continued about not falling into the traditional rock star stereotype in the ’80s. “I don’t think it’s healthy. My father smoked all his life and I always knew there was something wrong with it, even before the research happened. I used to throw his cigarettes in the fire, which annoyed me uncomfortable.” famous throughout the house.”
From there he began a successful solo career with songs like “Fields of Gold” and “Shape of my Heart”. Since then, he has sold more than 100 million records worldwide throughout his career.
