Valheim Update 0.217.4
The highly anticipated Valheim update 0.217.4, Hildir’s Request, has finally arrived on the public test branch. This major update introduces a host of exciting additions to the cooperative Viking survival game, including new NPCs, dungeons, camps, mini-bosses, and clothing options. This is the most significant set of content updates since the launch of Mistlands, and promises to keep players engaged until the upcoming Ashlands is ready.
In this update, players will have the opportunity to meet Hildir, Haldor’s sister, who comes to Valheim as a new merchant NPC. However, during her journey, she lost most of her inventory, so the player must lend a hand and help her rebuild her store. In addition to the arrival of Hildir, the update also introduces several new locations and dungeons, each with its own mini-boss for players to encounter. Get ready for exciting battles and thrilling loot!
Valheim update 0.217.4 also brings a host of crafting and quality-of-life improvements to enhance the overall gaming experience. One notable addition is the manual snapping feature, which allows for more precise builds in the game. Additionally, a handy Quick Stack button has been introduced to make the process of loading loot into storage even more efficient and effortless. Players will also appreciate visual effects adjustments that will allow them to see their character’s hair and beard styles even while wearing a helmet.
One of the big changes in Hildir’s Request is the introduction of the server difficulty modifier. This feature allows players to adjust the challenge level to their liking. If you’re looking for an easier Valheim experience, you can lower the difficulty. Conversely, if you feel you need a more intense, hardcore gaming experience, you can up the challenge. Plus, you’re free to mix and match difficulty settings to customize the perfect Valheim atmosphere for you and your friends.
Valheim developer Iron Gate understands the importance of retaining the discovery-driven nature of the game, so they’ve provided two sets of patch notes. The first set provides a general overview of the update’s content without revealing too many spoilers, while the second set digs into the details for those players who like to expect surprises.
Valheim update 0.217.4, requested by Hildir, brings a host of exciting features and improvements. Whether you’re exploring new locations, fighting epic mini-boss battles, or enjoying quality-of-life improvements, this update has something for everyone. So grab your Viking gear and dive into the Valheim universe once again to embark on a new adventure with Hildir and explore the vast world that awaits you.
