Valorant Episode 7 Chapter 3 Patch Notes

General updates

Agent update

International Organization for Standardization

CYPHER, SKYE, FADE and RAZE

In this patch we hope to address some power balance issues among Sentinels, specifically Cypher and some of the other agents on the roster. Sentinels often craft elaborate setups, only to have agents like Raze, Skye, and Fade destroy them through typical utility use. In this patch, we’re updating Cypher’s trap line (C) to try and make these interactions more beneficial to him, and encourage enemy agents to be more aware and deliberate if they want to utilize their utility against Sentinel setups.

signal

These changes force attackers to actively destroy traps to compromise Cypher’s setup, and drive interactions with utilities such as Prowlers (C) and Trailblazer (Q) to be more favorable to Cypher. Additionally, the power of traps when capturing enemies is slightly increased to ensure that opponents must respect their threat.

  • Trap Line(C)

    • Reduced the time for traps to impact captured enemies by 3 >>> 1.5 seconds.
    • After a shocked enemy or an enemy in a trap is killed, the Trap Line (C) no longer destroys itself, but rearms after 0.5 seconds, allowing it to trap another enemy.
    • The duration of Mark Slow when hit by a trap is increased by 0.75 >>> 2 seconds.

These changes to Skye and Fade are intended to add more strategic depth to the placement of Cypher’s Trapwire.

Isle of Skye

  • Trailblazer(Q)
    • Adjusted Trailblazer collision to go below the trap line at mid-height. This does not affect the hitbox of weapon damage.

fade

  • Prowler(C)
    • Adjusted Prowler (C) collision to go over the trap line at foot height and below the trap line at head height. This does not affect the hitbox of weapon damage.

Yi

Raz must be more precise with her paintballs (E) to deal damage to enemies, including destroying enemy traps. Additionally, Raze needs to be more careful about whether to use his Explosive Pack (Q) to increase mobility or deal damage.

  • Paint shell(E)

    • The initial grenade explosion radius is 6m >>> 5.5m.
    • The explosion radius of the secondary grenade is 6m >>> 5.25m.
    • The minimum damage of primary grenade explosion is 15 >>> 1.
    • Minimum damage from secondary grenade explosion 15 >>> 1.
    • The damage multiplier against the enemy is 250% >>> 100%.
  • Explosive Pack(Q)

    • The satchel does no harm until fully armed.
    • Shoulder arm time increased by 0.5 seconds >>> 1.5.

Weapon updates

Judge

With the following changes, we’re strengthening the Judge’s characteristics as a crouching shotgun by reducing some of its effectiveness while moving. With the reduction in magazine size, we hope to create more opportunities for enemies to catch someone reloading the Magistrate, and push those with Magistrates to become more efficient for getting multi-kills.

  • Judge
    • Maximum magazine size reduced from 7 >>> 5
    • Jump spread increased from 1.25 >>> 2.25
    • Running spread increased from 0.10 >>> 0.75

Player behavior updates

“Valorant” gameplay

As a team-based first-person shooter set in the near future, Valorant offers an engaging gaming experience. In this game, players take on the role of agents, each with their own set of unique abilities and ultimate abilities that can be charged up through actions such as kills, deaths, and targets. The main game mode pits two teams of five players against each other, with one team attacking and the other defending. The attacker’s goal is to activate the spikes at designated bomb sites, while the defender’s goal is to prevent them from doing so. This dynamic creates intense rounds of strategy and gunplay.

The game also features multiple modes to suit different preferences, including Unrated, Spike Rush, Swiftplay, Competitive, and more. Agents are divided into four roles: Duelist, Sentinel, Initiator, and Controller, each with specific abilities that contribute to team dynamics and tactics. With its tactical depth, diverse agents, and strategic objectives, Valorant’s gameplay provides a thrilling competitive experience for players who want to test their skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented shooter.
