Agent update

deadlock

Continuing in the direction of the previous 7.10 GravNet (C) changes, we want to build on the unique strengths of two other fundamental features of Deadlock: Sonic Sensors (Q) and BarrierMesh (E).

  • For the Sonic Sensor (Q), we’re improving the reliability of triggered shocks by shortening its end time, while also increasing flexibility by allowing you to recall and redeploy it during your turn.
    • Acoustic Sensor(Q)
      • Sonic sensors can now be called in rounds.
      • The pickup distance of Sonic Sensor is increased by 12m >>> 27m
      • Once triggered, the oscillation time is shortened by 1.0 seconds >>> 0.5 seconds
      • Once triggered, the time for the enemy to destroy the sonic sensor is reduced by 0.65s >>> 0.5s
      • Deadlock and her allies can now slightly hear the sound of the sonic sensor when they are in its area of effect.
  • For Barrier Mesh (E), we increased the maximum length of barrier walls, allowing it to divide larger spaces than equivalent utilities and making it more reliable for blocking when deployed quickly.
    • Barrier Net(E)
      • The maximum length of the barrier wall is increased by 6m >>> 10m

disappointing

When combined with the turret’s other advantages, such as autonomous detection and long-range vision, the Killjoy Turret (E)’s coverage exceeds that of other defensive reconnaissance tools. Reducing its vision cone should prompt Killjoy to make clearer choices about the areas of the map its turrets will cover, while the turret’s updated visuals should help you quickly understand which areas it will protect.

  • Turret(E)
    • Field of view radius reduced by 180 degrees >>> 100 degrees
    • Added a representation of the turret frustum on Killjoy’s minimap when she places turrets.
    • Added visual effects and updated turret animations to convey the turret’s new vision radius

Map update

gate reconstruction

  • We’ve upgraded the technology behind interactable doors to improve some of your interactions with others and Agent abilities.

refrigerator

Icebox is back with some changes, tweaking Mid, B Green and B Orange. Our goals with these changes are to increase the value and impact of the midfield for whichever team controls the midfield, and to simplify the path to the B site via B Orange and B Green, making combat more predictable.

Attacker generates

  • A storage container was added to the left to block the view from the Attacker Spawn to the B Tube.

B green

  • The hanging containers in B Green introduce a great deal of complexity to ground combat and personnel lifting on top. Moving the containers out of the way should make the fight here a little more manageable.

B tube appearance

  • We think the mid lane can bring more value to any team holding it. We added a window at the end of the B tube that overlooks the mid lane and can see the A site and guard spawn point. It allows the attackers to put a lot of pressure on the spinners, while the defenders should be able to maintain more space when controlling the middle from the B-kitchen or mid-boiler.

Inside the B tube

  • Two boxes stacked flush against the wall were added.

B snowdrift

  • There are multiple parallel paths from Mid to Site B. To reduce time and create more predictable battles, we’ve removed the B Orange route closest to B Kitchen.
  • Adjusted the snow bank leading to the B kitchen so that you can now drop off the boxes quietly.

lotus

Attackers on Lotus feel quite overwhelming to defenders. So we’re adding more options by adjusting neutral space and making some quality-of-life updates to the map so defenders can better capture sites.

a major

  • More space has been added to the main lane, as well as a set of boxes, giving defenders more options to fight for control of the rubble.
  • The double chest outside the A staircase has been changed to be impenetrable to reduce the likelihood of receiving spam.

a link

  • Added more space near breakable doors. It used to be a little awkward to fight out of the broken door, but now it should be easier to get out of the connecting room.

a hut

  • A shed has been closed off to help improve the readability of the factory site, making it easier to re-occupy. A cubby has also been added behind A Hut to give defenders more options to hold the field.

Station B

  • Site B added more space and boxes to increase defenses near chokepoints on site.

Station C

  • The Spike Factory area and stairs in C Bend have been adjusted to make the Spike Factory locations in C Field more diverse.
  • The box on the back of the website has been adjusted.

C bend

  • More spaces and boxes were added to C Main to increase defenses near the front of the Main.
  • Crates have been added to the C bend as well as some extra fighting space.

revolving door

  • Turnstiles now take 10 seconds to fully rotate, compared to 8 seconds previously. 8 seconds is not enough time to use utility to get through the door or fight and get through the door with the same spin. The extra time should allow more fights to occur through the gate, and most people to get through the gate on time.
    • Increase the time required for the revolving door to complete rotation 8s >>>10s

Schema update

Team Deathmatch

We think Sheriff excels in the Phase 2 weapons ecosystem, so other loadouts have been pushed to the side. The purpose of this change is to make other weapons more viable when fighting the Sheriff.

  • Phase 2 – Sheriff Loadout
    • Heavy shield>>>Light shield

Map rotation

  • All modes (except Team Deathmatch and Custom Games) will use competitive map rotation.
  • Current rotation: Refrigerator, Lotus, Sunset, Breeze, Rise, Bind, Split

Premier Update

  • captain role
    • We’ve added a secondary management role called “Captain” to the roster. Captains can help with team management, including inviting and removing team members. Captains cannot delete teams or kick out team owners. Team owners can promote and demote captains.
  • ranking
    • You can now view leaderboards for other tiers, as well as previous stages of Premier, using the drop-down menu in the upper left corner of the Standings tab.
  • department
    • You can now see what tier you are seeded in before playing your first match.
  • playoff qualification
    • The qualification threshold for this stage has returned to the 675-point standard.
  • EMEA region update
    • We have updated our section to support the VCT Challenger League on their path to promotion in EMEA.

“Valorant” gameplay

Valorant is a team-based shooter where players become agents with unique abilities. In the main mode, teams fight as attackers or defenders, with the goal of winning the round. Each player starts with a basic pistol and can purchase weapons and abilities using in-game money earned based on their performance. The game provides a variety of weapons such as pistols, rifles, shotguns, and sniper rifles, each with different shooting modes.

Players can choose from 23 agents and unlock them using an in-game currency called Kingdom Points, or Valorant Points (VPs). Kingdom Credits are earned by playing the game or completing missions, while VPs are purchased with real money or earned through specific events. Modes in Valorant include Unrated (best of 25 rounds), Spike Rush (best of 7 rounds with special rules), Swiftplay (a shorter version of Unrated), Competitive (with a ranking system), Premier (for aspiring pro players), and other deathmatches and upgrades with unique gameplay features.

Additionally, there are limited-time modes such as Snowball War, launched over Christmas, which offers team deathmatch with a snowball launcher as the only weapon, as well as special gifts containing power-ups throughout the game. These modes add variety to the Valorant gameplay experience, catering to different preferences and play styles.

brave plot

Valorant doesn’t have a traditional plot or story mode like other games. Instead, it focuses on multiplayer, with players competing in matches as agents with unique abilities. The game is set in the near future and revolves around an organization called “Valorant”, an international organization made up of individuals known as agents. These agents possess special powers and come from different backgrounds, cultures and countries around the world.

While there is no detailed storyline in the game, some lore and hints about the agents’ backgrounds and connections have been revealed through character biographies, interactions, and gameplay content. The game hints at a larger narrative surrounding conflict, factions, and a mysterious force called “radiation,” but the specifics of the plot aren’t made explicit during gameplay. Valorant focuses primarily on competitive gameplay, allowing players to engage in tactical combat and team-based strategy rather than following a linear story.

“Fearless” review

Valorant has received positive reviews since its release. Critics and players alike praised its engaging gameplay, which combines elements of tactical shooters with unique hero abilities. The game’s competitive nature and emphasis on teamwork are highlighted as key strengths, offering a variety of agents with unique abilities that encourage a strategic play style.

Additionally, Valorant’s responsive controls, well-designed maps, and balanced weapon mechanics enhance its overall appeal. Many appreciate its blend of fast-paced action and tactical decision-making, making it fun for casual players and competitive enthusiasts alike.

However, some criticism has surfaced, particularly regarding the steep learning curve for new players due to the different abilities and strategies they need to learn about gameplay. Some players have also raised concerns about the game’s community and occasional toxic behavior issues that can impact the overall experience. Despite these concerns, Valorant continues to evolve through regular updates, adding new content and addressing community feedback to maintain its popularity among the gaming community.
