“Valorant” gameplay
“Valorant” is a team-based first-person tactical hero shooting game that was released not long ago. Players take on the role of agents inspired by different countries and cultures from around the world. In the main game mode, teams are assigned as attackers or defenders, with each team consisting of five players. Agents have unique abilities and ultimate abilities that are charged in various ways. Players start each round with a pistol and signature ability charge, and can also purchase additional weapons and charges using the in-game economy system.

The game offers a variety of weapons, including pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, assault rifles and sniper rifles, each with different shooting modes. Currently, there are 23 agents available to choose from, with additional agents unlockable through an in-game currency called Kingdom Points or Valorant Points within 28 days of launch. In the standard unranked format (called “Unrated”), the competition is a best-of-25 format with teams competing for victory over 13 rounds.
The attacker’s goal is to drop and activate a bomb-like device called a “Spike” at a designated bomb site, while the defender attempts to deactivate the “Spike” or prevent its activation. If both teams win 12 rounds, sudden death occurs. Spike Dash mode is a 7-round best-of-three mode where players start with fully powered abilities and can only activate one spike per round. Guns are randomized and players compete to win 4 rounds. Swiftplay is a simplified version of the unrated format, featuring a best-of-9 format with teams switching sides after the 4th round. Competitive play uses a victory-based ranking system that requires players to reach level 20 before competing.
During overtime, after every two rounds, players can vote to end the game in a draw. Advanced Mode is a professional competitive game mode for aspiring pro players where teams compete in divisions and seasons. Deathmatch mode is a free-to-play match where the player’s goal is to kill 40 people in 9 minutes, with health packs being dropped for each kill. Team Deathmatch combines elements of Unrated and Deathmatch modes, with two teams competing to get 100 kills in nine minutes.
The game introduces a map selection and ban system. The upgrade mode is team-based, similar to a “shootout” concept, with the team working their way to victory through 12 levels of weapons. Copy mode allows players to vote for which agent to play as, with the entire team playing using the selected agent. Snowball Fight is a limited-time team deathmatch mode launched during Christmas that includes a snowball launcher and power-up gifts.

Originally announced as Project A by Riot Games in October 2019, Valorant is a unique fusion of Overwatch, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and League of Legends. It is a 5v5 multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) whose main game mode is called Search and Destroy, similar to CS:GO’s Demolition mode. In this mode, one team attacks by placing bombs (called spikes) while the other team defends.

There are 25 rounds in total, and the team that wins 13 rounds first wins. Each round lasts 100 seconds, during which time players can purchase weapons and equipment. If you die in one round, you are reborn in the next round. What sets Valorant apart is the inclusion of agents, each with unique abilities, from healing allies to building walls.
These abilities must be purchased at the beginning of each round. Spike Rush is another game mode introduced after the game’s launch where each attacker is equipped with a spike and all players have the same weapons and abilities, providing a faster seven-round optimal experience. Valorant’s seasons are called “Acts,” and each season brings new content such as agents, maps, and modes.
