Biography
Vitalik Buterin (born January 31, 1994) is a Russian-Canadian programmer, best known as one of the co-founders of the cryptocurrency Ethereum.
Ethereum is the second largest cryptocurrency in the world, with a current market capitalization of over $246 billion.
This token has been used and adopted in many parts of the world because its underlying blockchain technology, which uses smart contracts, is extremely useful and has helped many sectors transform their operations.
A notable example of this is the online gambling and casino industry, where many operators now allow players to play their favorite games with cryptocurrencies and use blockchain networks to make their sites safer, faster, and more reliable.
Therefore, ETH blackjack is just one example of a crypto casino game that is becoming a reality today and this is only possible largely thanks to Buterin creating Ethereum.

Early life
Vitalik Buterin was born in Kolomna, Moscow Oblast, Russia on January 31, 1994. He lived in Russia until the age of six, when his parents immigrated to Canada in search of better job opportunities.
The boy was recognized as a gifted child from a very young age, was placed in a program for gifted children as early as third grade in elementary school, and he was interested in mathematics and programming from an early age.
The boy was also interested in economics and could mentally calculate three-digit numbers twice as fast as other children his age, which showed his potential to his parents and teachers.
Career
This process continued when he attended the Abelard School, a private high school in Toronto, and Vitalik Buterin has described his time there as some of the best and most productive years of his life. It was during this time that he began to really focus on learning and absorbing as much as he could, and he credits that period with developing his thirst for learning, which he still has to this day.
The turning point in his life came in 2010 when he was playing his favorite game, World of Warcraft. Vitalik Buterin logged in one day and discovered that his in-game character had some changes in attributes and properties due to an update by the game developer, Blizzard. The 17-year-old was so frustrated that he cried himself to sleep that night, and it was this incident that showed him the power and control that centralized services had, and thus developed his determination to move towards decentralization.
Buterin first heard about Bitcoin from his father in 2011, and he became increasingly interested in the field until he founded Bitcoin Magazine in late 2011. He began writing for a publication called Bitcoin Weekly, which paid him five bitcoins per article, and after the magazine closed due to declining revenue, Vitalik Buterin was approached to co-found the magazine and join as one of its lead writers. Bitcoin Magazine is considered one of the first serious publications about cryptocurrencies in the world.
After completing high school, he attended the University of Waterloo, where he also worked as a research assistant for cryptographer Ian Goldberg, co-creator of Off-The-Record Messaging and a board member of the Tor Project.
As his interest and work in cryptocurrency grew, Buterin dropped out of college in 2014, when he was awarded a $100,000 grant from the Thiel Foundation to work full-time on Ethereum. He first explained his concept of Ethereum in a white paper in 2013, which garnered a lot of attention and led to the project’s launch in January 2014. The Ethereum platform was publicly released in July 2015, after several beta releases and stress tests.
Vitalik Buterin also recently made headlines for donating over $1 billion to India’s COVID Crypto Relief Fund, via Ether as well as several dog-related meme cryptocurrencies.
