Early Life & Education
As a child, Volodymyr Zelenskyy moved with his parents Rimma Zelenskaya (mother) and Oleksandr Zelensky (father) to Mongolia. They spent four years in Erdenet, then returned to Kryvyy Rih, where he received his education and became of Russian origin.
Even as a native Russian, he is fluent in English and Ukrainian. He was admitted to the local school in Kryvyy Rih (Economics Academy) in 1995 and graduated in Law in 2000.
While in college, Volodymyr Zelenskyy was an active participant in theater arts, from which he was determined to make a career even after being licensed to practice law. He discovered his talent for acting and comedy, which became his main focus. He participated in a comedy competition, ‘Funny and Creative People Club’ in 1997 that took place in his neighborhood.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his friend Kvartal were active members of the popular television show (KVN), appearing on every organized television show. In 2003, he founded a production company in partnership with Kvartal 95, currently considered the largest film studio in Ukraine. He was in charge of directing at the entertainment studio, then became general producer of Ukrainian TV channel in 2011.

In 1997, Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in a local comedy competition and was invited to perform with the team performing the final competition of KVN in Ukraine, which won the show.
