Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe (born October 18, 1985) is a Nigerian music icon, considered one of the leading figures in the African music industry. The singer-songwriter is known professionally as Wande Coal.
He came into the limelight after signing with Mo’Hit Records and recorded the single Ololufe, one of the tracks on the label’s compilation album Curriculum Vitae (CV).
The release of his debut album, Mushin To Mo’ Hits, solidified the singer’s place in the industry, with hit singles “Bumper2Bumper” and “You Bad” becoming fan favorites.
His second album, Wanted, was released in 2015, and his third album, Realms, was released in 2020.
Wande Coal has made his way into the hall of fame of the African music industry with songs like “Ballerz”, “Turkey Nla”, “Iskaba”, “So Mi So”, “Ashimapeyin”, “My Way” and many more.

early life
Wander Cole was born in Lagos Island Centre, Lagos State on October 18, 1985. His father is Chief Ibukun Olufonto Oyosipe and his mother is Omolara Oluwayemisi Oyosipe.
He is a native of Lagos State and comes from the Yoruba tribe. His parents named him Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe a few days after he was born. He is the first child in the family and has a younger brother and sister. Both his parents are Christians and raised him in the same faith. He has a younger sister named Towa Ojosipe.
As a teenager, Wander Kohl began to get into music because he discovered that he had a good voice. In order to improve his voice, he joined the church choir when he was still a teenager. His time in the choir helped Wander Kohl learn more about music and developed a desire to become a professional musician.

Wander Cole’s career took off after he met Don Jazzy and D’banj, the founders of Mo’Hit Records. In 2006, he signed with the record label.
His eponymous label colleagues included D’Prince, Kayswitch, Dr SID and Tiwa Savage. The world saw what a young Wande Coal was capable of when he appeared on D’banj’s Rundown/Funk You Up album. He appeared on singles Why Me, Loke and Tonsibe.
He lent his vocals to the record label’s compilation album, CV. The first single from the album, “Ololufe”, helped him rise to fame as thousands of Nigerians were mesmerized by his voice and songwriting skills.
After months of studio effort, the singer released his debut album to the public in 2010. Titled Mushin 2 Mo’Hits, the album helped catapult Wande Coal to international music stardom and earned him more collaborations with established and emerging artists. The album featured party jams like You Bad, featuring D’banj, Bumper2Bumper and Taboo.
In 2011, the singer wowed fans with songs like “Private Trips,” “Go Low” and “Been Long You Saw Me” featuring Don Jazzy. Like “Curriculum Vitae,” Wande Coal played a major role in the creation of Mavin Records’ second compilation album, “Solar Plexus.” He wrote and sang on the singles “Pretty Girls,” “Forever,” and “See Me Ri.” The project was released in 2012.
In 2012, a disagreement between co-founders of Mo’Hit Records, D’banj and Don Jazzy, led to the closure of the record label. Don Jazzy formed a new record label called Mavin Records, to which Wande Coal signed. D’Prince and DR SID also signed to the new label. Soon after, they were joined by the label’s first female artist, Tiwa Savage.
However, Wanted left Mavin Records in 2013 to continue his career with his own music label. This led to the birth of Black Diamond Entertainment. He was away from the music scene for nearly two years before returning with his second album in 2015. The album Wanted performed well in the market and received above-average ratings from critics.
In 2017, Wander Cole’s career once again heated up as he released several hit songs such as Ballerz, Iskaba with DJ Tunez, Oh No No, Funkeh and Turkey Nla. The singer’s single “So Mi So” released in 2018 mesmerized the industry.
Over the years he has developed relationships with many of the industry’s leading producers including Spellz, Juls, Killertunes, CheekyChizzy, Maleek Berry, Sarz and Don Jazzy.
He has also collaborated with other talented musicians such as Wizkid, Olamide, Falz, D’banj, D’Prince, Patoranking, Shizzi, Phyno, Ikechukwu, R2Bees and Naeto C.
His third album, Realms, was released in 2020. The pop song “Again” (produced by Juls) is one of the tracks on that project. In 2021, he collaborated with Juls again to record and release “Come My Way”. The music video for “Come My Way” was shot by Sesan and released on November 4, 2021.
In 2022, he appeared on rapper Olamide’s popular single “Hate Me”, which was released in February 2022. He also lent his vocals to “Listen”, one of the tracks on Basketmouth’s second album, Horoscopes.
In May 2023, he released a studio album titled Legend or No Legend, which featured Olamide, Wizkid, T-Pain and Fireboy DML.
