Warren Edward Buffett (born August 30, 1930), also known as Warren Buffett, is an American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist.
He is currently the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is one of the world’s most successful investors, with a net worth of over $125 billion, making him the fifth richest person in the world.
Warren Buffett was born in the United States in Omaha, Nebraska. He became interested in business and investing as a teenager, and interestingly enough, his childhood hobby led him to become the richest man in the world.

Early life
Warren Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on August 30, 1930. He is the second of three children and only son of Congressman Howard Buffett (father) and Leila Buffett (mother).
He has two sisters named Roberta Buffett Elliott and Doris Buffett.
Rose Hill Elementary School is where Warren Buffet began his education. After finishing elementary school, he enrolled in Alice Deal Junior High School but graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947.
In 1942, his father was elected to the first of four terms in the United States Congress. As a result, he moved from Omaha, Nebraska, with his family to Washington, D.C.
Warren Buffett has always been interested in business, even from his childhood. He planned to finish school and go straight into business. He did, and he has achieved great success. One Thousand Ways to Make $1000, a book he borrowed from the Omaha Public Library when he was seven years old, inspired him to enter the business world.
Warren Buffett spent much of his childhood involved in business. He sold chewing gum, Coca-Cola bottles, and monthly magazines door to door as one of his early businesses.
Warren Buffett made a lot of money delivering newspapers, selling golf balls and stamps, and polishing cars while in high school. The list of businesses he tried his hand at is endless.
Education
Warren Buffett enrolled in the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1947. He wanted to focus on his business, but his father insisted that he attend.
Warren Buffett enrolled in college for two years, eventually becoming a member of Alpha Sigma Phi. He then transferred to the University of Nebraska, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the age of 19.
Warren Buffett then enrolled in Columbia University Business School after being rejected by Harvard Business School.
In 1951, he graduated from Columbia University with a master’s degree in economics. After graduation, he attended the New York Institute of Finance.
Personal life
In 1952, Warren Buffett married Susan Thompson. Susan Thompson and Warren Buffett had three children: Susan Alice Buffett, Howard Graham Buffett, and Peter Buffett. Although Susan Buffett died in July 2004, the couple separated in 1977.
Their daughter, Susan Alice Buffett, lives in Omaha and serves on the national board of Girls, Inc., as well as doing philanthropic work through the Susan A. Buffett Foundation.
In 2006, Warren Buffett married his lifelong friend, Astrid Menks, then 60, on his 76th birthday. Astrid Menks had been with him since he and his wife separated in 1977. He is also blessed with grandchildren, Howard Warren Buffett and Nicole Buffett.
Career
Warren Buffett worked as an investment salesman at Buffett-Falk & Co. from 1951 to 1954, as a securities analyst at Graham-Newman Corp. from 1954 to 1956, as a general partner at Buffett Partnership, Ltd. from 1956 to 1969, and as chairman and chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. from 1970.
Warren Buffett found Graham on the board of GEICO insurance in 1951. He owned three partnerships in 1957. He paid $31,500 for a five-bedroom stucco house in Omaha, where he lived.
Warren Buffett met partners, such as Charlie Munger, in 1959, when the company had grown to six partnerships. He claimed to have seven partnerships by 1960.
Warren Buffett asked one of his partners, a doctor, to recruit ten more doctors to invest $10,000 in his business. Eleven eventually agreed, and Warren Buffett combined their money with his $100 contribution.
