“Baldur’s Gate 3” gameplay
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a compelling role-playing video game that blends single-player and cooperative multiplayer experiences. In its immersive realm, players are free to shape one or more characters and embark on a narrative journey with computer-controlled companions.
As an alternative, players have the opportunity to choose a character and join forces with other players online to form a united team. All combat actions follow the established rules of the Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition framework.
Baldur’s Gate 3 plot
The story is set in 1492 DR, a long time after the events of “Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn” and a few years after the events of “Baldur’s Gate: The Fall of Avernus”. Months later, the shadow of malice once again fell over the kingdom.
The protagonist, whose name is determined by the player, finds himself trapped by the mind flayers, a harbinger of the threat of an invasion from Faerûn. These insidious creatures infuse the protagonist and many others with illithid tadpoles, parasitic creatures capable of trapping their victims and reshaping them into mind flayers.
However, before this evil transformation can take place, the ship that carries them all, a Nautilus flying ship, is besieged by Githyanki warriors and their fearsome red dragons. Amid the chaos, the protagonist seizes a chance for liberation and pilots the troubled ship back to Faerûn, where it crashes.
A journey to escape the parasitic infection ensues, and the fellow survivors of the wreckage are revealed: Gael, a human wizard; Shadowheart, a half-elf priest; Astarion, a high elf rogue; Will, a human the sorcerer; Lae’zel, a Githyanki warrior; and Kalach, a tiefling barbarian.
