What Happened to Darius from Pitbulls and Parolees?

Animal Planet Pitbull and the Pardoned has seen the Villalobos Rescue Center make it their mission to save the lives of Pitbulls and help them find their forever homes, and has given second chances to the parolees who make up their staff and volunteers. While the rescue center has been in operation for 30 years, the show has been running for 18 seasons.

One of the parolees, Darius joined the show in 2017 during season 11. On the show, Darius couldn’t hide the joy he felt working with the dogs. Darius was on parole from Dixon Correctional Institution in Jackson, Louisiana. He landed a role on the show right away, where he worked with rescue center owner Tia Torres.

Tia hopes that Darius will replace Country Matt, who left for New York and was the first case released from the center after working there. In the video, Tia shows Darius how to properly train a Pitbull by placing his hand close to the animal’s face to avoid being bitten. He grins like a child and says, “Oh my gosh,” when he finally gets the Pitbull to sit like Tia showed him how.

Darius also talked about the many things he learned while working at the shelter. He said, “Prison really taught me what respect is, what is not, what is integrity. Prison really helped me become a respectful young man.”

After his sudden disappearance, fans of Darius and the show asked what happened to the man who showed so much potential to become a vet tech.
