Robbie the Abyss TOTK location
Depending on how the story progresses, Robbie can appear in two different locations in Kingdom Tears. The first encounter with Robbie occurs at Lookout Landing, at the coordinates (-0254, 0142, 0020). In this location, Robbie is working with Josha to investigate the mysterious new area “The Abyss” introduced in Kingdom Tears.
During your exploration of the Abyss in the Abyss Photography side-quest, you’ll need to find Robbie again. It is located in the northwest of the central Hyrule Rift, with precise coordinates (-0785, -0433, -0469), close to the light root of Issus.
If you’ve unlocked the ultimate super-hand ability, you’ll find Robbie in another location – the Hartno Ancient Technology Laboratory. The laboratory is located at coordinates (3780, -2111, 0250). In this new location, Robbie will provide you with the Temple Sensor and guide you through further upgrades after completing the missions “Camera Work in the Abyss” (unlocks the camera ability) and “Mystery of the Abyss” (unlocks the ultimate Overhand ability).
Robbie is not only a valuable source of information, but also offers ways to enhance your exploration experience in Hyrule. You can seek his help at the Hateno Ancient Technology Laboratory, where he can remind you how the Purah Pad works, or you can purchase new photos and pages for your Hyrule Compendium.
With Robbie’s guidance and knowledge, you’ll be fully prepared to explore every corner of this new world. Whether you’re looking for powerful weapons or seeking to learn efficient item replication methods, our comprehensive Kingdom Tears section has something to suit every aspect of your adventure.
Where can I find Robbie in the Deep in Kingdom Tears?
To find Robbie in the depths of the Kingdom Tears game, follow these step-by-step instructions:
-
Talk to Zonai investigation team personnel in the area. They will provide you with information on the direction Robbie is traveling.
-
Look for a small campfire to the south, near a large, faintly glowing tree root. There is another bonfire further to the west.
-
When you leave the safety of your campfire, visibility becomes limited. Use bright flower seeds to brighten the area. You can throw the seeds with your hands (hold down the R key and press up on the d-pad to select the material), or attach a seed to an arrow and shoot it farther with a bow.
-
Brightbloom seeds sprout and glow when they hit any surface, even if you leave the area and then come back. If you’re low on seeds, you can find more in the depths or in caves on the surface.
-
In the abyss, you’ll encounter new creatures, such as the glowing Abyss Fireflies. These creatures can be combined with monster parts to create an elixir that makes you glow, though not as brightly as a Brightflower Seed.
-
Continue north to find Nisoij Lightroot near a bonfire in Robbie. Interacting with Lightroot creates a fast-moving point and illuminates a large area around it, helping you navigate in the dark. Standing in the Light Root will also clear the gloom from your greatest heart, but you’ll still need to eat something to regain your lost health.
-
Next to Lightroot, examine the camp and find a note on the table Robbie left behind.
-
Looking west from the camp, you can see the next campfire and another faintly glowing Light Root in the distance.
-
To reach the next bonfire, use a nearby boulder to jump across a large shady pool.
-
At the radiant edge of the Light Root, use more Bright Flower Seeds to spot threats ahead. Watch out for frogs, they will eat the bright flowers and plunge you into darkness if you are not careful.
-
Additionally, you may encounter a giant skeleton torch where monsters are mining Zonite. If you don’t have the right foods to protect your biggest heart, avoid them.
-
You can find bomb flowers at the base of strange trees. Incorporate them into your arrows to blast Zonite ore away.
-
Continue forward and take out two mining outposts if you come across them. Collect unique materials from the depths, such as mud sprouts and fluffy mushrooms, to aid you in battle.
-
Light your way with Brightbloom seeds and continue your journey to the far west of Lightroot. Be prepared for a potential ambush by the winged Aerocuda, which may dive-bomb you. Use the Eye of Keith fused with arrows to kill enemies quickly.
-
Reach the Iayusus Lightroot and interact with it to illuminate the area, connecting it with the previous Lightroot to create a longer light corridor.
-
You’ll find Robbie near the Iayusus Lightroot, right next to the large statue that Josha wants to investigate.
-
Talk to Robbie and he will activate the camera function on your Purah Pad. Use this feature to take photos of important objects, including ominous statues.
-
Show Robbie the picture of the statue and he’ll happily end his investigation and return to the surface.

Kingdom Tears: The Legend of Zelda
Kingdom Tears is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. The game is the sequel to the critically acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released in 2017. In Kingdom Tears, the developers retained several key elements from the previous game, such as the vast open world of Hyrule, but they expanded it to allow for more vertical exploration.
Players take on the role of beloved hero Link as he embarks on a quest to find Princess Zelda and confront the menacing Demon King, aiming to stop him from wreaking havoc and destroying the world. The idea for Kingdom Tears was born when the team’s ideas for Breath of the Wild’s downloadable content (DLC) went beyond simple add-ons.
The development is being led by Nintendo’s Entertainment Planning and Development (EPD) division, with production team 3 taking the lead. Notably, the game retains key characters from Breath of the Wild, with Hidemaru Fujibayashi returning as director and Eiji Aonuma as producer. The first trailer for the game was shown at E3 2019, with a full reveal later at E3 2021.
The game was originally slated to release in 2022, but later faced delays and was finally released on May 12, 2023. Upon release, Kingdom Tears received widespread critical acclaim from players and critics. It was praised for its significant improvements, expanded open world, and emphasis on encouraging exploration and experimentation. The game’s success is reflected in its sales, hitting the milestone of selling over 10 million copies within the first three days of release.
“Tears of the Kingdom” is developed by Nintendo EPD and Nintendo is the publisher. The creative team includes director Hidemaru Fujibayashi and producer Eiji Aonuma, as well as designers Mari Shirakawa, Naoki Mori and Akihito Toda. The programming was handled by Takahiro Okuda, and the artistic vision was realized by Satoru Takizawa. The game’s captivating music was composed by Manaka Kataoka, Masa Miyoshi, Masato Ohashi and Tsukasa Usui.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom delivers an engaging action-adventure experience designed specifically for single-player mode, and is only available on the Nintendo Switch platform. Its release marks a major milestone for the celebrated series, offering players a captivating journey through the vast world of Hyrule and an exciting continuation of Link’s heroic saga.
Tears of the Kingdom gameplay
Kingdom Tears retains the beloved open-world action-adventure gameplay of its predecessor, Breath of the Wild (2017). As players take on the role of Link, they begin to explore Hyrule, which now includes two new areas: a sky dotted with floating islands and a mysterious abyss. Throughout the journey, players search for weapons and resources and complete various missions. They can walk around the world, climb surfaces, ride horses, and glide on paragliders.
In this game, new features are introduced, such as the Zonai device, which players can use for combat, exploration, and advancement. The runes from the previous game have been replaced by five new abilities: Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend, Recall, and Autobuild.
Ultrasound enables players to manipulate and combine various objects, including Zonai equipment, to create unique vehicles or structures. Fuse allows Link to enhance the properties and durability of shields and weapons by combining them with materials or certain objects, resulting in useful combinations such as explosive arrows.
Autobuild allows players to quickly rebuild previously crafted equipment using Ultrahand by allowing players to create temporary replacements from nearby equipment and objects or at the expense of Zonate. Ascension gives Link the ability to move vertically on solid surfaces, while Recall allows the player to “rewind” the movement of certain objects.
Temples and Korok Seeds return to provide bonus gameplay elements. Clearing the shrines will grant players Blessed Lights, and obtaining four of them will allow Link to increase his heart or expand his stamina rounds. Collecting Korok Seeds increases Link’s inventory capacity, allowing him to carry more melee weapons, shields, or bows.
Venturing into the depths brings a new threat: the gooey substance known as the Gloom. When Link encounters an enemy shrouded in darkness or is attacked by an enemy, his maximum heart capacity will be temporarily reduced by one. This negative effect can only be mitigated by returning to the surface or seeking out Lightroots (large glowing plants found in the depths) to restore his maximum health.
The combination of familiar mechanics and innovative content in Tear of the Kingdom ensures an engaging and immersive gaming experience that builds on the success established by Breath of the Wild.
