At club level, Rush’s iconic tenure at Liverpool lasted from 1980 to 1987 and then from 1988 to 1996. Notably, he is the player with the most goals in the history of the English League Cup and FA Cup finals.

On the international stage, Rush has been capped 73 times by the Welsh national football team. His outstanding scoring ability made him Wales’ top scorer with 28 goals, a record that stood from 1980 to 1996 until it was broken by Gareth Bale in 2018.
