She later worked as a librarian at Glencrest Jr. High School, only retiring after a car accident.
Meanwhile, William was born on July 17, 1932. Meeting an unfortunate death, he breathed his last on July 6, 1991, at the age of 58.

Joy and William married in 1957, after meeting while studying at Wright College.
