At the 2022 Game Awards, the game’s new release date of May 26 was announced, coinciding with the reveal that Batman will star, with Kevin Conroy reprising his role posthumously.

At the PlayStation State of Play on February 23, 2023, Rocksteady confirmed several key details, including the necessity of an internet connection, the launch of a cosmetic battle pass, and plans for post-launch content such as new characters and missions.
On December 8, 2023, Rocksteady announced that it would add an offline mode after going online. However, on April 13, 2023, the game was postponed again, this time to February 2, 2024. Despite this, the Epic Games Store version has been further delayed to March 5, 2024.
