The The Real Housewives of New Jersey Star Jackie Goldschneider has deleted a viral tweet that claimed her husband Evan Goldschneider dated her estranged sister before her. “While it sounds like a great story, it’s sadly not true,” Jackie said in a video posted to her Instagram Story on Saturday.
“If it were true, you would have known by now because I’m completely open about my life, and because I don’t really think it’s a shameful story.”
Jackie said that she “met Evan in 2003” and that her sister “has been happily married since 1998,” meaning neither of them knew her current husband before that. “If she dated him in the ’90s before I met him in 2003, I actually think that would be a pretty interesting story,” Jackie continued. “I’m also sure there would be some pictures or something, so I can’t even deny it, but sadly, it’s not true.”
Jackie added a “Sorry LOL” GIF at the end of her selfie video. After Twitter user @Krissyluvsballs claimed that Jackie shouldn’t “feel entitled to judge” her co-stars’ relationships because “Jackie is Evan’s second choice,” Jackie responded by denying the claim.
“Evan dated HER SISTER first. Starting to make sense #RHONJ,” the user claimed in her tweet.
Jackie and her sister had been estranged for a long time, but Jackie never revealed everything that had happened between them.
“My relationship with my sister is… I don’t even want to call it strained because I never knew her as my sister. It’s weird for me to even call her my sister because she’s just another woman with the same parents as me,” she said in a May 2021 episode of Daily Dish podcast.
The “Weight of Beautiful” author emphasized that while she “never, ever, ever had a relationship” with her sister, she thought they would reconnect as adults. However, that “never happened,” she said. Jackie said her sister was initially “involved” when she joined “RHONJ,” and they had a conversation in her driveway, but she ultimately “didn’t let it air.”
“I really hoped it would lead to something more, but it was just a recurring pattern with us,” she concluded. “If we make up five minutes, all of a sudden something happens that really usually has nothing to do with me, that she gets mad at me again for something.”
