Gogglebox is a show that sees families and groups of friends from across the UK filmed to record their observations and reactions to the previous week’s television programme from their own homes. Linda McGarry, Carolyne Michael and their children Louis and Alex, and Marina Wingrove left the show earlier this year, leaving three seats to fill.
Disability consultant and presenter Simon Minty joined Gogglebox with his sister Jane. He appeared on the show on 22 October 2021. Simon and his sister watched Strictly Coming Dancing, The Love Trap and Killers of the Cosmos. While watching the show, the brothers had a number of random conversations including giving away washing up liquid, overeating and finding a hedgehog in the house.

Aside from people staring at him, his main difficulty is getting around, so he has to take taxis to and from school, and on day trips, his friends will push him around in a large pram.
In an interview with RGAUK.ORG, Simon was asked what the best and worst aspects of being small were. Simon replied that he was middle-aged so he was fine with it. He opened up about going through some emotional and relationship issues that had troubled him in the past.
Simon revealed that as an ambassador, he has to be polite to some of the offensive comments young people make towards him, even if he doesn’t want to be.
