In August 2021, Ella confirmed the relationship in an interview with Vanity Fair. At the time, Ella also shared that her “perfect date would be to stop at the market, buy the weirdest produce, and figure out how to cook with it.”
PageSix first obtained exclusive photos of them holding hands while out in the West Village. In June 2021, the couple was photographed walking down the street in New York City while holding hands. Emhoff wore a bomber jacket, yellow and black striped leggings, and a bucket hat for the event. For her part, Hine wore sneakers, ripped blue pants, and a black Western-style jacket.

Ella Emhoff and her brother Cole are Doug Emhoff’s children from his previous marriage to Kerstin Emhoff. Her parents divorced in 2008 after 16 years of marriage. Ella and Cole grew up in Los Angeles, although her father was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City. She was a member of the swim and basketball teams at Wildwood High School in Los Angeles, which they both attended.
In a 2020 interview with Glamour, Ella spoke candidly about her father’s relationship with Kamala — whom she now calls “momala” — after their mother’s divorce.
Ella received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in textile design with a focus on knitwear from Parsons School of Design in May. She is also signed to IMG Models. She is best known for her Miu Miu coat from the 2021 Presidential Inauguration.
