Jen Hamilton And Nathan Riley Drama
Healthcare provider and Registered Nurse Jen Hamilton, who is also on TikTok, shared her thoughts on the controversial video by obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Nathan Riley.
Nathan’s comments, which were reportedly private between two social media influencers and based on behavior Jen disliked, were captured in a video she posted on her TikTok account @_jen_haimlton_. Jen describes the obstetrician’s comments to a female colleague who had just given birth: “While you were busy eating carbs in the on-call room, I was reading stuff…”
Jen claims she tried to address it in private messages before confirming Nathan made the messages public via video. He claims in his video that she responded to his ideas about informed consent, improved maternal health, and home births by sending him a direct message. Wrong.
Jen asked him to “take responsibility, admit what he said, and apologize to his female co-workers.” She was then blocked by Nathan on TikTok and all comments on his videos were disabled. He is no longer on TikTok as of the time of this writing.
“I had people come up to me and point out other things this man had said,” Jen shares. “He built a platform for women who didn’t trust the health care system—and instead came to him for comprehensive OB/GYN advice.”
“I tried to address it privately with him and said, ‘I’m speechless, I can’t believe that someone who cares about women would have the audacity to say the things you just said,'” she explained in a video uploaded to TikTok on August 9, 2023.

Jen Hamilton is board certified in emergency and obstetric nursing and is an RN, BSN, CEN, RNC-OB and keynote speaker. She has been working as a nurse practitioner at Cone Health since June 2012. Prior to that, she worked as a camp counselor at Victory Junction from 2009 to 2011.

Of her burgeoning influencer career, Jen says, “I never really expected anything like this to happen,” Jen says. “I had a friend who was… like, ‘Are you on TikTok?’ And I was like ‘no way’ because I know what kind of personality I have, I’d probably get addicted to it… just surfing all day.”
But it really took off when she started sharing interesting observations about her life with her husband and two sons. Her family felt comfortable being photographed.
“I think I got more of that reaction from other people,” Jen said about whether she should share too much about her family life. “I think I’m an oversharer by nature. I think the more information I put out into the world, the more people I can relate to. So with every detail that comes out, with every thing that I share… maybe something that I’ve been through, I can find more people who can relate to that. And I crave connection, and I create that kind of… intimacy with someone where… we can relate to things personally.”

Jen added, “People thought he might get bullied if he shortened it to ‘Ass’ when he got older, and I started pretending I didn’t hear people asking his name. It was a fun naming challenge for him. It’s hard to name a kid you’ve never met, so now that we know him, it’s easier. We love Luke now and think it’s perfect for him.”
