Country singer Zac Brown has proposed to girlfriend Kelly Yazdi. PEOPLE confirms Zac proposed to Kelly in Hawaii. “He proposed in Hawaii a while ago,” a source told the outlet. “It was very private and the couple kept it very private.”
Zac Brown Band has had Yazdi on tour with them since at least July, when she was spotted in an Instagram post honoring Zac’s birthday while they were on the road, despite the fact that the two don’t often post photos or videos together. In the video, Yazdi is seen standing next to her now-fiancé in the crowd with what appears to be an engagement ring on her finger.
It is not clear how long they have been dating.
News of Zac’s engagement comes four years after the singer announced his divorce from wife Shelly. Zac and his ex-wife met in 2005 through a mutual friend shortly after she graduated from Georgia State University. When they shared their first kiss on New Year’s Eve, he declared her “the one.”
The former couple, who have a son called Alexander, eight, and four girls called Joni, 11, Georgia, 12, Lucy, 14, and Justice, 15, said their lives began to “go in different directions” at the time.
“This was a difficult decision, but we have been through a lot together and this is our next project — love, mutual respect and care for each other is what we are moving forward with,” the now-divorced couple later shared in a statement to People. “Family comes in many different forms.”
