Luke Lowrey first met Damian Terriquez through dancing. After dating for a few years, the two got engaged in 2020. But the couple has yet to officially tie the knot.
“It all depends on next year and future projects,” Damian explains as we can hear wedding bells ringing. But the couple have decided that the ceremony will take place in Mexico “so all my family can be there… because bringing 400 people to the States is not reasonable!”
Last we saw them, Luke and Damian attended the premiere of Glamorous — where he plays the character Dizmal Failure.
Damian says Glamorous is a mix of The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty, but with a quirky, makeup-focused style. He also recalls the “wild” moment when he got the call about starring in the Netflix show. Apparently, the actor wasn’t cast until they started filming the first episode. Especially with “someone as iconic as Kim” in the cast, Damian didn’t expect to land the role.
“But it was Damian who the group wanted, so Damian was cast as an inspirational drag queen: ironically named Dizmal Failure,” he says.
Netflix’s Glamorous premiered on June 22, 2023, and follows Marco, an aspiring influencer who lands his dream job with a makeup mogul and embarks on a dazzling journey of self-discovery amid the chaos of work and romantic challenges. As its name suggests, the show is filled with glitz and glamour, with tons of romance and drama thrown in. However, the show is bleakly reductive when it comes to the corporate side of today’s queerness.
Fun Fact: Damian called Luke his husband even before they were married.

Luke Lowrey Family
Luke Lowrey comes from a mixed family. His father (who was in the military) is of Scots-Irish descent and his mother is of French-Cajun descent.
It’s no surprise that Luke speaks Russian, French, Spanish, and English.
Damian, on the other hand, said he comes from a large matriarchal Mexican family. That’s because his father died when he was young, and he was raised by his mother in Tijuana, Mexico.
His mother was one of nine children and his grandmother was one of thirteen children.
Where is Luke Lowrey from?
Luke Lowrey was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. But he grew up in a rural area outside of Memphis, Tennessee until graduating from high school. He then moved to Abington, Virginia to work at the Barter Theatre.
He then studied ballet in Chicago and moved to Las Vegas to work.
Currently, as of 2023, he still lives in Los Angeles, California.

Luke Lowrey is a stand-up comedian, comedy writer, actor, and producer.
But he started his career as a dancer at the Barter Theater. After dropping out of Belhaven University (after one semester), he joined the Broadway tour of CATS, Movin’ Out, and eventually performed with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.
In fact, Luke is so good at his job that he has won first place in the American Youth Ballet Competition and the International Ballet Competition.
Sadly, a hip injury forced Luke to give up dancing altogether, after which he refocused on acting and began studying acting in New York. While studying acting, he also worked as a stand-up comedian, performing at top New York clubs including the Broadway Comedy Club and the New York Comedy Club. He eventually landed a job as Lisa Lampanelli’s usher, writer and tour manager, working with her for two years.
To date, Luke has appeared on television shows such as Reasonable Doubt, AHS: 1984, Red Bird Lane, Big Top, The Q Agenda, So You Think You Can Dance and Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, and films such as The Choice, My Story, Greyscale, Athena, Last Men, A Conduit, Jon and Joanne, First Dates and Before You.
On stage, he has performed in Tangerine: the Musical, Pageant, Sweet Charity, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, 1776, The Jungle Book, Alexander and the Terrible, Pirates and Pinafores, Wise Women and Y Mains.
