Luke Lowrey first met Damian Terriquez through dancing. After several years of dating, the two got engaged in 2020. But the lovebirds have not yet walked down the aisle.

“It all depends on next year and future projects,” Damian explains as we can hear wedding bells ringing. But the couple decided that the ceremony would take place in Mexico “so all my family could be there… because it didn’t make sense to bring 400 people to America!”

The last time we saw them, Luke and Damian were attending the launch event for Glamorous – where Damian played the character Dizmal Fail.

Damian says that Glamorous is a cross between The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty, but quirky and focused on makeup. He also recalled the “wild” moment when he got the call about starring in the Netflix show. It seems the actor wasn’t cast until they started filming the first episode. Especially with “someone as iconic as Kim” in the cast, Damian lost hope that he would get the role.

“But it was Damian who the team wanted, and so Damian was cast as an inspirational drag queen: the ironically named Dizmal Fail,” he said.

Netflix’s Glamorous premiered on June 22, 2023 and follows Marco, an aspiring influencer who lands his dream job with a makeup mogul and embarks on a fiery journey of self-discovery. amidst work chaos and romantic challenges. As the name suggests, the series is full of glitz and glamor with loads of romance and drama thrown in. Yet the film is decidedly reductive in its emphasis on the corporate side of today’s strangeness.

Luke Lowrey comes from a family of mixed heritage. His father (who was in the military) was of Scottish-Irish descent and his mother was of French-Cajun descent.

On the other hand, Damian said he comes from a large matriarchal family in Mexico. That’s because his father passed away when he was young, after which he was raised by his mother in Tijuana, Mexico.

His mother is one of nine and his grandmother is one of thirteen.

Luke Lowrey was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. But he grew up in the country outside Memphis, Tennessee until he graduated high school. He then moved to Abington, Virginia to work at the Barter Theater.

But he started his career as a dancer at the Barter Theater. After dropping out of Belhaven University (after one semester), he joined the Broadway tour of CATS, Movin’ Out, and eventually performed with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.

Luke was really good at what he did, which resulted in him winning first place in Ballet at the Youth America Grand Prix and the International Ballet Competition.

Sadly, a hip injury forced Luke to quit dancing altogether, after which he focused his efforts on acting and began taking acting classes in New York. While taking acting classes, he also worked as a stand-up comedian, performing in top New York clubs including the Broadway Comedy Club and the New York Comedy Club. He eventually got a job as Lisa Lampanelli’s Opening Act, writer and tour manager and worked with her for two years.

To date, Luke has starred in television shows such as Reason Doubt, AHS: 1984, Red Bird Lane, Big Top, The Q Agenda, So You Think You Can Dance, and Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, along with films such as The Choice, My Story, Greyscale, Athena, Last Men, A Conduit, Jon and Joanne, First Dates and Before You.

As for his stage plays, he performed in Tangerine: the Musical, Pageant, Sweet Charity, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, 1776, The Jungle Book, Alexander and the Terrible, Pirates and Pinafores, Wise Women, and Y Mains.
