House of Horrors survivor Jordan Turpin has revealed that she has a new partner six years after being rescued from her abusive parents, who subjected all 13 of their children to years of torture and painful imprisonment. The 23-year-old California native has been coupled up with her boyfriend, Matt Ryan, on Instagram and the two have been cuddling in several videos and selfies.
Her first post had no description, but she later posted a humorous video with the comment: “My boyfriend is guessing where my makeup products go on my face,” referring to that she and that man were in fact dating. “Hope you will like it.”
Jordan also shared a cute video of them dancing together on social media that day. She posted a photo of herself posing in front of Ryan the next day, completing the outfit with a black beanie and a long-sleeved floral crop top and bright trousers. Her boyfriend appeared in black trousers, a matching black hat and a white T-shirt.
Jordan and Matt’s shared Instagram has a simple bio that reads: ‘Finding joy in the small things’. Fans reacted to the news with overwhelming support, heaping praise on the newlyweds in the comments section.

“It was a difficult journey. I’m fine now but I always stay strong and want people to know they’re not alone, that’s why I made this video,” she revealed. Jordan added: “I was stuck in a bad relationship. Only my two sisters were there for me. I finally had to go to the hospital because my health was failing. I had to go to therapy to see why I kept going back to him and I learned it was a traumatic bond.”
After gaining popularity on TikTok since joining in May 2021 and collaborating with artists like Loren Gray and Charli D’Amelio, Jordan has grown in popularity on social media. Jordan initially rose to fame in 2018 at the age of 17, after running away from his parents David and Louise Turpin’s home.
Despite having lived in horrible conditions throughout her childhood, she successfully left home one day while her parents were away. She used a contraband phone to contact 911 and report her parents’ abuse, which allowed authorities to remove her and her siblings from their home of horrors.
In the 2021 ABC show Escape from the House of Horrors, Jordan and her sister Jennifer Turpin recounted their experiences. Jordan revealed that secretly watching Justin Bieber’s music videos as a child gave her a desire to go out into the outside world.
Her parents were detained by police while they conducted an investigation. Her parents pleaded guilty to multiple charges last year and they were sentenced to life in prison with the chance of release after 25 years. Horrifying truths about the extent of torture, abuse and neglect of children – including feeding and torture, being tied to beds and deprived of basic hygiene – began to emerge after the arrests in September. January 2018.
The children said in deputies’ statements that they were only allowed to bathe once a year. With the exception of meals which are now served only once a day – a combination of lunch and dinner – they are mostly kept to their own quarters.
The brothers’ only food for many years was two slices of bread spread with bologna sausage or peanut butter. In addition, the couple was also accused of teasing their children by feeding them cakes and other foods they were not allowed to eat. In front of them, Turpin’s parents devoured fast food, tying the children to dirty beds in case they stole the food.
David and Louise both received life sentences. The two later pleaded guilty to torture, dependent adult abuse, child endangerment and unlawful imprisonment.
